Designing a wash routine
We recommend washing every second day, just to make life easier! But if you want to wash everyday that's fine too, just make sure you have enough other washing that you can add to the load in order to create enough friction and to save water.

- Off the bum! Flush solids if possible. Pull the nappy apart and secure velcro to wash tabs and throw into a dry bucket. No need to hand rinse, unless you want to.
- On Non-Wash Day(Skip this step if you want to hand rinse poopy and night nappies), in the morning when night nappy has just been taken off, throw dirty nappies into the machine and set to a rinse and high speed spin, then throw them back in your bucket
- On Wash Day, after night nappy has been removed, throw contents of bucket into the machine and set to a cold Pre-Wash with half scoop of detergent (This may be called quick wash, rapid wash or just be your shortest wash cycle, as long as it has some agitation and a high speed spin cycle it will be fine).
- Then add clothes etc to fill your machine 3/4 full for a front loader, at least 1/2 full for a top loader
- Add your full amount (For heavily soiled load) of strong detergent, ussually 1.5 scoops.
- Wash in warm (40 degrees) on your longest heavy duty cycle (this may be called soiled items, cottons, heavy duty etc). Wash at 60 degrees if using an 'Eco' detergent.
- No extra rinse needed
- Sun is great for removing any light staining but nappies should not be heavily stained out of the wash, if they are, try adding the half scoop of detergent to your prewash.
- You can use the dryer. Take the shells out after 30 mins, and don't stretch elastics until they are cool or just hang the shells while the inserts dry in the dryer.
